I stepped behind him, placed my hand on his shoulder, squeezing it and leant towards my lover's ear. "I love you, you know?" I whispered. "Never forget that."

When he turned around his entire heart seemed to be in those blue-gray eyes. By the way he had looked at me when he had witnessed me torturing the Osaarian prisoner I had known that I had lost some of his respect, some of his trust. And I had been afraid. But now the look in his eyes told me that I hadn't lost his love.

And I thanked God for that.
